Ranking of Universities



Financial health of the institution, number of students, research productivity and quality of research produced, infrastructure, annual graduate output, annual graduate output and student satisfaction are the factors that are observed while ranking universities. The purpose of this ranking is to get a reasonable reflection of higher education development in the country to promote a positive culture of competition among universities to improve and to provide an attractive environment for education. Higher Education Commission in Pakistan is the first one in Islamic countries that has took steps and developed methodology to conduct ranking of universities in Pakistan.  HEC has announced top ten universities of Pakistan. They are:
1. Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad
2. Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences
3. The Aga Khan University, Karachi
4. University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
5.  University of the Punjab, Lahore
6. National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad
7. Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi
8. University of Health Sciences, Lahore
9. COMSATS Institute of Information Technology
10. Lahore University of Management Sciences.
