Spider Web

By weight comparison spider web is five times stronger than steel and twice as strong as artificial fiber; it is only one tenth the diameter of a human hair. The wonder doesn't stop here as spider silk displays many other reason defying properties like the ability to absorb high impact energy by stretching itself (elasticity) and has a breaking point significantly higher than any other known material......

Amaing Records Of Temperature Ever

On July 21, 1983, the temperature at the Vostok Station in Antarctica dropped to −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F), and this is the coldest temperature ever recorded on earth. The largest recorded snowflake was 15in wide and 8in thick. It fell in Montana in 1887. Also in June 22, 2003 a large thunderstorm moved across south-central Nebraska, and after a hailstorm local residents in Aurora found an extremely large hailstone and quickly put it in a freezer to keep it from melting. It was examined by the National Climate Extremes Committee who measured it as being 17.8 cm (7.0 in) diameter and 47.6 cm (18.75 in) circumference.

Retina display of the new iPhone is the best ever made to a mobile device

Whenever a new tablet hits the market, the DisplayMate goes there and looks at the screen of the gadget in question. Before the new iPhone is released, the best displays were the iPad and Galaxy Tab 2 - with the latter being even a little better at some points. The game is now turned back to the side from Apple.

According to Dr. Raymond Soneira, President DisplayMate, the Retina display of the new iPhone is the best ever seen on a mobile device , offering an image quality above any other market.Although great, the screen of the iPhone had two "weak points": sharpness and saturation. However, according to Dr. Soneira, Apple managed to get around very well in this new display, including calling him a "state of the art."

To prove it's serious, tests show that the screen quality is second only to professional displays properly calibrated. In fact, the DisplayMate said, with some calibration, the screen of the new iPhone could be used as a studio monitor, given its impressive excellence.

But as nothing is perfect, there is still room for improvement. Now that Apple has clogged screen pixels (more than 3 million, 9.7 inches), Dr. Soneira think the company can focus on other areas such as the backlight of the pixels, the better automatic adjustment of brightness and reflexivity, which affects the brightest areas of the screen.

Shareholders of HP: "Why is not our company as innovative and successful as Apple?"

Yeah ... life is not easy for the CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Meg Whitman. During a question and answer session at the annual meeting of shareholders of the company's executive heard a bit. That things are not going so well in the PC market all know, but when comparisons are beginning to emerge with the most valuable company in the world , there is not much to do.

One shareholder said, once asked Steve Jobs as Apple planned to compete with larger companies like HP. The answer was classic - something like: "our products are better and our technology is years ahead, especially in the mobile world."

As we know, Jobs was right after all, Apple now worth ten times more than HP. And there was one question that came to Whitman: "Do you think that HP was and is innovative enough?"

Primeiramene, Whitman said that everyone should applaud the success of Apple. "This is one of the stories of a rebirth of the most successful business of our generation. I have to say, Steve Jobs is one of the business leaders of our generation. "Then, of course, came the part that mattered (to shareholders). Whitman said that HP remains on the first or second in all his dealings, and will continue investing in research and development.

Other shareholders expressed their displeasure with the lack of a chain of retail stores such as the famous Apple Retail Stores . Today, if a printer breaks the mark, a consumer must return the product to the site of HP, rather than simply entering a "HP Store" and fix it, as in the Apple stores.

Whitman said the company's initiative in Brazil (!), Where HP has a physical store. However, she promised that the strategy will work in the United States - meanwhile, the company tries to improve support through the website.

Finally, another shareholder mentioned the vision and success of the Apple market, wondering if HP has a "see the same thing," and would have some innovative product coming out of their labs.According to CEO, HP since its foundation is an innovative and revolutionary, yet she admitted that in recent years, the company is showing more evolution than revolution. And possibly one of putting into practice the teachings of Jobs, Whitman said she believed in focus, and encourages company leaders to do a few things but doing them well.

In just ten days, one million users downloaded the iPhoto app for iOS

That's right. According to Jim Dalrymple, who has good contacts within Apple, in just ten days the iPhoto iOS was downloaded by a million users. Still he says, Apple knows that a person can download the application more than once (for your iPhone and iPad, for example), and this is not part of the account, there are only single users.

This means that Apple earned $ 5 million in just ten days with a single application for iOS. If the company starts selling mariola the Apple Online Store the demand will be greater than previously thought - everything is going right for it, awesome. :-P

IPhoto to iGadgets requires iOS 5.1 or higher is compatible with iPad and iPhone 4/4S 2 and $ 5 at the App Store [106MB].

Already today are more than 220 models of tablets in the market, but Apple will continue to lead for a long time

According to a survey published yesterday by ABI Research, the tablet market has already surpassed the mark of 220 currently available models - but still, Apple should continue to lead it in the short / medium term at least.

To Jeff Orr, director of research groups with consumers of ABI, the growth of this market in the coming years should be guided by its popularization in emerging nations like India and China. Therefore, ABI expects that by 2016, tablets that cost below $ 400 now comprise over 60% of the entire market - and Apple is now in this cake, with iPad 2 16GB Wi-Fi.

Until 2011, the tablets with 9 inches or more - which includes all Cases, of course - still dominated with more than three quarters of the total, but the ABI also predicts that next year will mark a greater spread of smaller models with screens 7 -9 inches - which enable people to experience more comfortable / laptop users to tablet. No wonder there are so many rumorsabout the arrival of an iPad less so , perhaps even in 2012.

After all, Apple pulls its competitors, and they also pull. The market is on fire (and no, we will not make a joke already hit with the temperature of the new iPad :-P).

Apple security in the world, protecting the user's folder

We know that not all users have knowledge and interest in technical matters, and that was the whole point of Steve Jobs: to facilitate the day-to-day life of people making complex technologies become functional and simple to use. Apple products skillfully implement solutions that increase the level of system security and therefore the user's safety. However, there are security issues that directly involve the handling of the tool, and these good practices are presented in this article series.

Layers of security minimizes the risk of system vulnerability, whether generated by external attack or lack of knowledge in handling the tool. The Apple development team works to minimize these problems, however, for cultural reasons and by different levels of users and needs, Apple does not completely restrict the permissions of the administrator user of OS X, although in my opinion many times this attitude may be the best solution - depending on the scenario.

A good example is the restrictions on iOS, which, being a consumer equipment with a focus on day-to-day owner, there are restrictions on access and management tool, making it a secure and free of malware (except in cases where the user chooses to jailbreak ). Nobody wants to have difficulties in his cell at the time of an emergency, or be surprised to see that your list of contacts leaked device.

In OS X, restrictions are controlled by the level of privilege that a user has on an object (file or directory). Each system user has a folder called Home , where they are stored files and information (profile) related to the user who owns the folder. The default path for storing folders of users is / Users . The ~ (tilde) represents the full path of the folder Home user logged in at the moment, let's assume my user name is John and I am logged in, ~ then represent the path/ Users / john / .

By default the root folder of the Home has read permission for all of the system (and all other groups). This permission exists for some sub-directories can perform their functions:
~ / Public - Used to share files between local users and network share (group and everyone: read-only);
~ / Public / Drop Box - Used to receive files posted by users and local network share (group and all: write-only);
~ / Sites - Used to store files that are published through the Web Sharing, Lion in this directory will be created to enable the service.

Other folders - such as ~ / Documents , ~ / Library , ~ / Desktop , etc. - are restricted to the owner of the folder Home up to him and grant access to others.

The problem occurs when some users, for lack of knowledge, save files, whether confidential or not, the root folder of your Home . And how does it by default has read permission, all local users of the system can view and copy the files previously unprotected.

We know that all users created in the system participate in a group called "staff" and that the services ( daemons ) File Sharing and Web Sharing are not within this group.

Thus, if you do not want to use the functionality of the directory ~ / Public and~ / Public / Drop Box for local users (an alternative would be the directory / Users / Shared), it is recommended to remove the privileges of the group "staff" . And if you do not use the Service and File Sharing Web Sharing, it is recommended to remove the privileges of all other (everyone ).

In Terminal type:

A
chmod g-rx ~

... To remove the permissions of the group staff .

A
chmod o-rx ~

... To remove all other permissions.

A
chmod go + rx ~

If you want to return ... with default permissions.

· · ·

Well folks, remember: Never save files in the root folder of the Home .

Nokia has filed a patent for a technology that will create magnetic tattoos that vibrate to alert the user about an incoming phone call

Nokia has filed a patent for a technology that will create magnetic tattoos that vibrate to alert the user about an incoming phone call.

According to the patent , a square piece of a special woven fabric could be applied to the skin of the user and this talk to the mobile device, allowing the person to receive vibratory stimulation in place when receiving a call.

The vibrations could be customized depending on who is calling or the type of message you are receiving. Besides the frame part in a textile, the patent also suggests to produce the same effect on ferromagnetic ink to be used in tattooing. The ink was demagnetized before being injected into the skin, and only when it was finished he would receive a magnetic charge.
The advantage is that tattooing may have any form and meaning and be made anywhere in the body permanently. The patent, however, is still in the evaluation stage and there is time to perform.

Galaxy SIII be Android more potent? Rumors say yes

For a long time the Galaxy S II was considered the strongest player equipped with the Android OS from Google. With the new generation of devices receiving formidable competitors with quad-core chips, NFC and other tricks, is that Samsung would be ready to take the lead again? According to rumors, it would be possible.

Among the absurdities and jokes, as we saw in the new iPhone, the guesses of experts and internal sources of this or that vehicle gives some very concrete evidence. The main one was reported by the Korea Times. An executive at Samsung would have confirmed the processor quad-core Exynos , clocked at 1.5 GHz and supports WCDMA and 4G networks.

Another rumor, generated by a photo uploaded to Picasa , brings an image recorded by a Samsung handset, named GT-I9300, with resolution of 8 megapixels. Another side bet on something less modest, since the Galaxy SII has the same resolution.

The DDaily tried to piggyback on speculation and published data from another mysterious source, revealing a wireless charging station. The wireless charging modules are no longer a novelty, but its adoption is slower than expected. The difference, or catch, may be related to the distance required for the charge exchange between unit and station, which could range from 1 to 2 meters.

Finally, a supposed image of public relations firm Weber Shandwick, who has worked with Samsung in the past, brings an image is not very illuminating. To keep up with speculation, Samsung was preparing a launch in London on May 22.

In fact, Samsung must spend all their ammunition. The HTC One X, equipped with a quad-core processor can cope with the new release, especially if Samsung adopted a strategy similar to the Galaxy Note, with a stronger processor than the previous generation, but dual-core.

We are left to wait for the new rumors (yes, they should continue) and Samsung's official stance.

Deepest Image of the Universe

Deepest Image of the Universe
Sao Paulo - The European Southern Observatory (ESO) has released an image showing a deeper insight into the universe from the Vista Telescope, which observes the sky in infrared. To achieve this image, the telescope was pointed repeatedly to the same location. Then, the accumulated radiation emitted by distant galaxies, but comes weakened on Earth.

The image combines more than six thousand explosions of the telescope. It captured light for about 55 hours, with five different color filters.

At first glance the image appears normal, with a few bright stars and some weaker. But in fact, the objects are very distant galaxies, each containing billions of stars.

More than 200 000 galaxies are included in the photograph. The bright spots are entire galaxies, with billions of stars in each.

The Hubble View, located in Chile, aims to study distant galaxies in the early universe. It is possible that the ESO can obtain images deeper than this in the future when new observations were made.
