Amaing Records Of Temperature Ever

On July 21, 1983, the temperature at the Vostok Station in Antarctica dropped to −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F), and this is the coldest temperature ever recorded on earth. The largest recorded snowflake was 15in wide and 8in thick. It fell in Montana in 1887. Also in June 22, 2003 a large thunderstorm moved across south-central Nebraska, and after a hailstorm local residents in Aurora found an extremely large hailstone and quickly put it in a freezer to keep it from melting. It was examined by the National Climate Extremes Committee who measured it as being 17.8 cm (7.0 in) diameter and 47.6 cm (18.75 in) circumference.

Facebook is Reading your Text Messages

Facebook can read your text messages and having the ability to write text messages on your Android smartphone with Facebook app installed on it.

This was first reported by "The Sunday Times". It says Facebook has admitted to paper that it accessed users’ text messages for a test feature that company is planning to introduce in future.

List of permissions you approve Facebook App for Android phones

facebook text messages

But facebookis not agreed to it. Facebook denied the report and said:

1) There is no reading of user text messages.

2) On the Android App store, the Facebook app permissions include SMS read/write.

3) The reason it is on there is because we have done some testing (not with the general public) of products that require the SMS part of the phone to talk to the Facebook App. That’s what the read&write refers to – the line of communication needed to integrate the two things.

4) Anyway – we have yet to make any such features available to the public. (so the Sunday Times is completely wrong when it says Facebook is reading people’s SMS. Wrong on the terminology, and wrong on the suggestion that it has been implemented).

5) But Facebook is right to insert this into the Android app permissions – because yes, the app technically has the capability to integrate with the phone’s SMS system – even if that is just for our own testing.

A very bad stretegy from facebook. It didn’t clarify that why its Android App asks for text message readand write permission. When the feature (that they are talking about) isn’t available to general public at all.
Privacy is the next biggest issue for the world on on smartphones. These devices store most private and confidential data, which is accurate at the same time, can get exposed to exploiters with just a single click without any option of undoing it.

Convert Your Facebook Profile To A Facebook Page

Facebook has released a new tool that lets users convert their personal profile into a Facebook Page. Though the terminology is often muddled, a key difference between the two features is that users can simply like a Page while they must friend (establish a mutual relationship with) a profile, which makes Pages a much better solution for businesses and public figures.

Be aware that when you convert your profile to a Page, your profile pictures will be transferred, and all of your friends will be automatically added as people who like your Page. No other content will be carried over to your new Page, so be sure to save any important content before beginning your migration.

Migrating is irreversible at this time, so you may want to download your profile information including photos, wall posts, messages and friend list before making the switch.

New Feature of MSN To Take Internet's Pulse

msnNOW has debuted

a place where people can go to keep in touch without taking up a lot of their time.

After months of development,MSN Adds New Feature To Take Internet's Pulse. The feature sifts through millions of Internet searches and links circulating among the hordes on Facebook and Twitter. The chatter is then distilled into the equivalent of a digital water cooler -- a place where people can go to keep in touch without taking up a lot of their time. The trend-tracking service, called ---msnNOW--- tunes into the buzz by sifting through millions of Internet searches and links circulating among the hordes on Facebook and Twitter. The chatter is then distilled into the equivalent of a digital water cooler  """a place where people can go to keep in touch without taking up a lot of their time."""

This feature has been added on Thursday at http://now.msn.com.

The service is primarily aimed at college-age teenagers and young adults who are increasingly relying on smartphones and other mobile devices to remain plugged into what everyone is talking about from one hour to the next. It's an "information -snacking" addiction that msnNOW is looking to feed with a smorgasbord of morsels served up a team of about 20 editors who will write 100-word summaries of the stories driving online conversations, said Bob Visse, MSN's general manager.

Although it's tailor made for people on the go, msnNOW isn't offering an app for smartphones or computer tablets. It can be reached on all mobile Web browsers. The service also includes tools to make it easy to share on Facebook, Twitter and email.

Some 5,443 students of Bahauddin Zakriya University were given free laptops by the Punjab government. However, the CDs which were meant to have educational software instead had the stage actress’ dances.

The students said that: "CM Shahbaz Sharif should direct the officials concerned to check the CDs being given under the scheme."

'Avatar' robot made by Japanies scientists

It is a robot that mimics the movements of its human controller is bringing the Hollywood blockbuster "Avatar" one step closer to reality.

An operator wearing a special HMD and a pair of gloves controls the "Telesar V" (right) that was developed by Keio University's Graduate School professor Susumu Tachi at his laboratory in Yokohama, suburban Tokyo. The robot that mimics the movements of its human controller is bringing the Hollywood blockbuster "Avatar" one step closer to reality.

The systems attached to the operator's headgear, vest and gloves send detailed instructions to the robot, which then mimics the user's every move.
At the same time, an array of sensors on the android relays a stream of information which is converted into sensations for the user.

The robot's "eyes" are actually cameras capturing images that appear on tiny video screens in front of the user's eyes, allowing them to see in three dimensions.

Microphones on the robot pick up sounds, while its speakers allow the operator to make his voice heard by those near the machine.

It is still a far cry from the futuristic creations of James Cameron's "Avatar", where US soldiers are able to remotely control the genetically engineered bodies of an extra-terrestrial race they wish to sub due

It could have much more immediate and benign applications, such as working in high-risk environments, for example the inside of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, though it is early days.

Can ELECTRICITY pass through Flash light of the Digital camera to your body??? Yes it is 100% true..!

This is a true incidence reported of a boy aged 19, who was studying in 1st year of engineering, who died in Keshvani Hospital, Mumbai. He was admitted in the Hospital as a burned patient. Reason ??????
...

This boy had gone to Amravati on a study tour, on their return they were waiting at the railway station to catch the train. Many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and / or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, he was unable to capture the full group of friends in one frame in the Digicam. This boy moved away to a distance to get the whole group.

He failed to notice that at an angle above his head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers & to his body. All this happened within a fraction of a second. His body was half burned.
They arranged for an ambulance & his burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital, Mumbai.

For one & half days or so he was conscious & talking. Doctors did not have much hopes as there was a lot of complex issues in his body. He passed away later.
Now how many of us are aware about these technical threats & dangers? Even if we are, how many of us are adhering?????

How much a cow produce a milk in her lifetime

A cow produces around 200,000 glasses of milk in her lifetime. The milk bottle was invented in 1884. Plastic milk containers came later – in 1964. Cows are not innocent as they seem---

Your image of cows is probably similar to      mine – gentle, placid animals looking at you with those large, soft cow eyes and contentedly chewing their cud. But a recent article published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that about 20 people a year are killed by cows in the United States. The cows actually attack humans – ramming them, knocking them down, goring them, trampling them and kicking them in the head – resulting in fatal injuries to the head and chest.

These behaviors remind us that mother cows, like other animals, can be fiercely protective of their young.

The bond between a cow and her calf is very strong and continues after the calf is fully grown. In non-commercial herds, some cows will nurse their calves for up to three years.
